Here at Midsouth LCCT, our lineage to the Gracie Jiu Jitsu family is pure. We are only three levels removed from Grand Master Helio Gracie who, with his brother, Carlos modified Japanese Jiu Jitsu and the style of teaching it into what is commonly called Gracie Jiu Jitsu today.

Grand Master Helio Gracie trained his son, Rickson Gracie, who is considered by most practitioners to be the champion of the family, and who has extensively modified the traditional form of the art into what he has coined, Invisible Jiu Jitsu. Invisible Jiu Jitsu gets its name from the unseen details beneath the techniques that help to improve ones connection to the opponent, making them experience enough discomfort to give you the position or submission you require without wasted body movement or use of brute strength in the technique. These details greatly improve the ability of the smaller, weaker practitioner when sparring against a stronger, heavier opponent.

Luiz Claudio is a 4th degree black belt and his brother Thiago Veiga, a 3rd-degree black belt under Rickson Gracie. Both Luiz and Thiago are multiple time World Champions, and train some of the most well known UFC fighters on the scene today.
