Adult Belt Ranks
Adult Rankings – 16 Years Old and Up
White Belt – All Ages
This curriculum revolves around the LCCT foundation Jiu Jitsu program. We passionately believe the techniques taught, and the format in which they are taught is imperative to developing a sound fundamental Jiu Jitsu game. This foundation will provide a solid base for the rest of your game in which additional techniques will be placed as you journey through the ranks toward black belt and beyond! Stripes are awarded after a minimum of 20 – 40 classes. 4 stripes are required before testing for a blue belt.
Blue Belt – 6 Months to 1+ years (minimum)
Students will be required to attend a minimum amount of 100 classes to be eligible for a stripe. Once the student has acquired 4 stripes, he/ she will be eligible for belt promotion. The academy instructor will award stripes; Luiz and/or Thiago will award belts. Students will be required to “Belt Test,” a display of the techniques taught in the Foundation program, in order to advance in rank. Students will be awarded a certificate of recognition and a new blue belt on successful completion.
Purple Belt – 2+ years (minimum)
Students will be required to attend a minimum amount of 100 classes to be eligible for a stripe. Once the student has acquired 4 stripes, he/ she will be eligible for belt promotion. The academy instructor will award stripes; Luiz and/or Thiago will award belts. Students will be required to “Belt Test,” in order to advance in rank. Students will be awarded a certificate of recognition and a new purple belt.
Brown Belt – 1.5 + years (minimum)
Students will be required to attend a minimum amount of 100 classes to be eligible for a stripe. Once the student has acquired 4 stripes, he/ she will be eligible for belt promotion. The academy instructor will award stripes; Luiz and/or Thiago will award belts. Students will be required to “Belt Test”, in order to advance in rank. Students will be awarded a certificate of recognition and a new brown belt.
Black Belt – 1.5 + years (minimum)
Students will be required to attend a minimum amount of 100 classes to be eligible for a stripe. Once the student has acquired 4 stripes, he/ she will be eligible for belt promotion. Luiz and/or Thiago will award belts and stripes. Students will be required to “Belt Test”, in order to advance in rank. Students will be awarded a certificate of recognition and a new black belt. If the student continues to train, degrees on black belt can be awarded every 3 to 5 years, with Coral Belt and Red Belts awarded to exemplary black belts after 25 and 45 years of training as a black belt.
